YT to MP4 does one job: it turns a YouTube link into an MP4 file you can keep. You paste the link, choose 360p, 480p, 720p or 1080p, and the file downloads. There is no account, no app and no browser extension.
How the conversion works
YouTube keeps the picture and the sound of most videos in separate streams. When you pick a quality, our server fetches both streams and joins them into a single MP4 while it is being sent to you. The streams are copied, not re-encoded, so the file keeps the quality YouTube streams it at. Nothing is written to our disk along the way.
Why it's free
The site is small and cheap to run. We may show a few ads in the future to pay for the server. We will never add fake download buttons or pop-ups that open other sites.
Independent site
YT to MP4 is not made, endorsed or supported by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
