Every file is a standard MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound. Limits you should know
- Up to 25 conversions a day from one connection.
- 720p and 1080p for videos up to 60 minutes. Longer videos, up to 120 minutes, come in 360p or 480p.
- Live streams work once they have ended. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos don't work.
Questions
Is YT to MP4 free?
Yes. Converting is free and you don't need an account. The only limit is 25 conversions a day from one connection.
Does the MP4 have sound?
Yes. Every quality comes with sound. For 480p and up we join YouTube's separate video and audio streams into one file while it downloads.
Will the MP4 play on my phone or TV?

Is YT to MP4 the same site as ytmp4?

Can I convert to MP3 instead?
No. YT to MP4 only saves video files.
Why is my browser not showing how big the file is?
HD files are joined together while they download, so the browser doesn't know the final size in advance. The size shown next to each quality on our page is a close estimate.
Is it legal to convert YouTube videos?
Converting your own videos, or videos the owner allows you to save, is fine. Saving other people's work without permission can break copyright law and YouTube's terms.
